Introducing "Proud of the Parent You Are": a course delivered over 6 weekly meet-ups with a small group of 8 mums, facilitated by a Positive Psychologist. Realistic tools to shift things at a deeper level.
Stop white-knuckling your way to calm. Enjoy your kids more, and feel confident you're setting them up for better relationships with others and the sort of self-belief that will take them far in life.
✦ You have the best intentions in your parenting and try really hard to be gentle, but it often feels like you're white-knuckling your way to calm or performing a "script"
✦ You find yourself stuck when your children don't listen, and end up threatening, yelling or bribing in frustration - then go to bed feeling bad about it
✦ You accept that your children will act out, and you want to feel more steady and confident in how to handle it when they do
✦ You feel like you're more sensitive than other mothers and you have a sensitive or strong-willed child who needs a different approach. You'd love to meet other mums who understand what it's like for you
Magic happens when mothers get together. You'll be part of a small group of 8 mums who feel just like you, and are rooting for you to feel more confident and at peace, even in tough moments.
You'll learn powerful, evidence-based Positive Psychology tools to improve your mindset so you're triggered less easily, then watch your parenting automatically shift.
Every week, you'll receive additional short podcast-style lessons to support you between meet-ups. They'll help your put the learning into practice.
People often comment to me that I seem to have a natural calm as a parent, but the truth is, I just have Positive Psychology (the science of human wellbeing and resilience). I'm a highly-sensitive person and actually very easily overwhelmed. By the time I became a mum, I was lucky to have completed my Masters degree and so had access to a range of simple but effective tools to support myself as an individual and parent. I'd never needed them more, and realised other mums surely did too!
Of course, I still get overwhelmed sometimes (as we all do) but for the most part, I'm happy to say I'm able to relax into the moment with my kids, to stay steady when it's all kicking off, and to feel confident in the ever imperfect choices I make as a parent.
Those parents that research found were so effective, approaching their kids with clear expectations and consistent, loving support? They weren't feeling frustrated then squashing it down in order to act calm. They were thinking differently about their children's behaviour, and this allowed them to feel less frustrated in the first place. From there, they could choose their response with more confidence and intention.
That's what this course will do for you: teach you to think in a way that means more patience, compassion, and sturdy leadership.
Finally, you'll throw out the scripts and get to discover the amazing parent you can be when your mindset isn't getting in the way.
